The Brazilian-American is a six-time X Games gold medalist and most recently competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics representing Brazil.
The 29-year-old moved to California from Sao Paulo when she was only 14 years old to compete at the X Games.
The tattoo enthusiast convinced her father to let her stay in the United States after landing her first sponsor.
Bufoni now lives in Southern California and is amassing a series of accolades in her sport.
She also recently set two world records by winning her sixth gold medal in the 2021 X Games for women’s skateboarding street while also moving her overall Summer X Games medal count to 12.
That means she is now the most successful female Summer X Games athlete.
Forbes named her as one of “The Most Powerful Women In International Sports for 2018”.
She also appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Most Wins in World Cup Skateboarding.”
Her success has led to her being named Brazil’s Female Skater of the Year twice in 2009 and 2010 as well.
When she’s not skating, Bufoni appears to enjoy travelling and hanging out on the beach.
The popular skater is also fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
